CAES offers an online version of our Language Advising service, so that students who cannot make it to the Advisory Zone can still get the English support that they need. Sessions take place on Google Hangouts. You can get help on all aspects of written and spoken English.

Teaches: CAES9920 Academic Communication for Business and Economics.
Born and raised in New York, Kevin graduated Baruch College with a BBA in Finance and Investments and a minor in Economics. Afterwards, he worked for the capital markets division at HSBC, advising corporations on loan funding alternatives. After obtaining the CELTA, he taught general and business English for Education First in China. He leveraged this experience to complete his DELTA, which further enhanced his understanding and practice of ELT. Subsequently, he taught at and created materials for primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.
At CAES, Kevin is actively involved in curriculum and materials design for the English-in-the-discipline course for business students. He has also developed materials for a number of courses at the Centre and is a co-author of the Academic English: Skills for success (2nd ed.) textbook. He is also a member of the Pragmatics Special Interest Group at the centre. His research interests include classroom discourse, pragmatics (specifically linguistic im/politeness), and WhatsApp text messaging during university group projects.
