Peer Tutors are HKU students with native/near-native English speaking proficiency. They have volunteered to work with students who want to practice their social English, and are bookable for both one-to-one and group sessions. Please note that while Peer Tutors will try and answer any questions you may have about speaking English, the sessions are meant to be informal chats. If you want detailed feedback on your speaking, you can book a one-on-one session with a Language Adviser or ETA.
****The 2018-2019 Peer Tutor programme will start on 26 September 2018****
What can I book?
30 minutes (One-to-one session)
If you would like one-on-one practice, or perhaps are nervous about speaking in front of a group of people, you can book a one-to-one session. Please note that we cannot guarantee you will be able to book the same Peer Tutor each week. Make sure to come with your own topic for discussion!
1 Hour (Group session)
This longer session is for students who want to practice group speaking. You do not need to make a group yourself; multiple students can book the same slot. Group chats are also a great way to make new friends!
